Ahh…Valentine’s Day. A day of love. A day of chocolate and roses. A day of caring. A day to share your feelings!

We at LMTC wanted to share some of the reasons we love you, the dedicated educators of Michigan.

  • You are amazing! Each and every one of you. You do something that no one else can do. You mold young minds into the citizens of tomorrow.
  • You share! No longer are we stuck in educational silos, but I see you, on Twitter. In your buildings. On the street. Sharing what you do with others. Keep it up.
  • You innovate! You are an innovator. Standing on the forefront of an educational revolution waiting to fully ignite. You take necessary steps to improve your practice on a regular basis.
  • You are dedicated! We see those long hours, away from your family. We see those late nights getting your lessons set or finishing your feedback on your papers. You ensure student learning is happening!
  • You continuously learn! You make it a point to read, stay on top of new trends, and be sure that you have all of the tools at your disposal.

Thank you for everything that you do for your students on a daily basis. We love you for it.

Last year, some of our attendees shared their love for what we are doing with the Lake Michigan Tech Conference. Here is what some of the people had to say about us.

  • One attendee said, “One of the best conferences that I have been to.”
  • Another added how awesome it was that we used presenters from the classroom.
  • Someone else said that is was “like a MACUL but more manageable.”
  • Another attendee said that it was a super first year!
  • And we had many more participants looking forward to next year!

All of that said, it is essential that we continue to see this. If you are interested in presenting at this year’s Lake Michigan Tech Conference to share all that you do, please complete this Call for Presenters. If you are not interested in presenting, you can register for the second annual Lake Michigan Tech Conference on our Registration page.

And hey, if that lovey-dovey mushy stuff isn’t your thing, check out our area’s connection to the famous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Al Capone. The Purple Gang. It is interesting stuff, to say the least!
