The Continuation of Something Good – Announcing Lake Michigan Tech Conference 2018

Sunset over Lake Michigan

Last year, we started something new. Something fun. And most importantly, something needed. As our classrooms become more connected, we need to understand how this impacts our students, our classrooms, and our teaching. In 2017, we brought the first installment of the Lake Michigan Tech Conference. Overall, the first year of the conference brought in over 200 educators from all over Michigan, over 50 presenters with over 70 unique sessions. This was a huge success for us, but it did leave some things that we needed to work on. The good news, we will have that chance!

We are bringing back the Lake Michigan Tech Conference for 2018! Please consider joining us on Monday, July 23rd, and Tuesday, July 24th, for the second annual Lake Michigan Tech Conference. Using the feedback from last year, we will be delivering a bigger, better conference this year. While we are working out exactly what that looks like and invite you to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Twitter to stay in the know.

I really enjoyed the conference last summer. I am using Nearpod in my U.S. History class this year and it has completely changed the way I do formative assessments. I’m glad you’re continuing the conferences. I would like to learn how to record a lecture on Screencastify, use Google Classroom for differentiation, and PBL ideas using technology. Looking forward to the next conference!
